Quilter

Debbie Pierce is a self-taught quilter and quilting instructor who creates traditional quilts with her own “twist.” She lives and quilts on a 25-acre farm on Chestnut Ridge near Jonesville, Virginia with her husband and family. All six of their children have been involved in helping Debbie make her quilts.

Debbie loves to share her unique insights into the joys of quilt making by teaching workshops in the Southern Appalachian region. She has developed her own timesaving, accurate piecing techniques. Debbie credits her background as a former math teacher for her ability to create new designs from traditional patterns.

One of Debbie's latest patterns combines two traditional patterns, “Courthouse Steps” and “Autumn Splendor”. The result, which she calls “Autumn at the Courthouse,” multiplies the effect of both patterns.
“Lilies at the Courthouse”

Wall Hanging 41" x 41"

This wall hanging is my “Carolina Lily” variation combined with “Courthouse Steps”.
